"The Indian is a
symbol of Young America." So begins this 1953 yearbook
introduction.
Remembering that the high school's students were both responsible for
the yearbook's composition and reflected in it their own worldview constructs and
understanding of "Indians," makes this statement and yearbook a good subject for
content analysis.
